Risk-based governance and disciplined controls from qualification through execution.
Best Holdings integrates compliance into the evaluation, structuring, and execution of its activities. Integrity is not treated as a separate step after commercial terms have been formed.
Across domestic and cross-border engagements, the firm seeks to understand the parties, authority, ownership, commercial purpose, payment pathway, source, and material risks before committing its name, relationships, or resources. Controls are applied in proportion to the firm’s role, the stage of the engagement, the jurisdictions and counterparties involved, the asset or product, the transaction structure, and the quality of available evidence.
Where material questions cannot be resolved, or activity cannot be conducted lawfully, transparently, and within the firm’s risk appetite, Best Holdings may decline, pause, condition, restrict, or exit the engagement.
An Integrated Compliance Framework
Best Holdings maintains a formal Compliance Management System that establishes governance, decision rights, documentation standards, escalation requirements, and subject-specific controls. The framework is designed around the firm’s mandate-led operating model and the risks associated with complex transactions, investments, commodities, natural resources, real assets, and cross-border counterparties.
Financial Crime Compliance
Best Holdings applies proportionate counterparty and transaction diligence to address money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, tax crime, trade-based money laundering, and related financial misconduct.
Controls may include identity and authority verification, beneficial ownership review, sanctions and integrity screening, source and economic-purpose review, payment controls, enhanced diligence, monitoring, escalation, and recordkeeping.
Anti-Bribery and Corruption
Best Holdings does not permit bribery, facilitation payments, kickbacks, concealed inducements, undisclosed conflicts, or other improper advantages.
Government interactions, third parties, intermediaries, commissions, gifts, hospitality, charitable contributions, and payment arrangements are subject to proportionate review, documentation, and approval requirements.
Responsible Sourcing
When Best Holdings supports transactions involving gold or other minerals, diligence extends to source legitimacy, provenance, chain of custody, conflict exposure, human rights, environmental risk, corruption, sanctions, and financial crime.
Approval is specific to the documented source, parties, ownership, route, custody, product, payment structure, conditions, and period. Material changes require renewed review.
Business Conduct and Ethics
The Best Holdings Code of Business Conduct & Ethics establishes standards of institutional integrity, good faith, professional judgment, fair dealing, confidentiality, accurate records, conflicts management, and speaking up.
Those acting for or representing Best Holdings are expected to act lawfully, honestly, within their authority, and in a manner the firm can responsibly explain to its legitimate stakeholders.
Controls Across the Engagement Lifecycle
Qualification
The firm defines its proposed role, maps the relevant parties and decision-makers, evaluates authority and ownership, screens relevant participants, and assesses the legitimacy, jurisdictional exposure, commercial purpose, and structural coherence of the opportunity.
Transaction Review and Approval
Before material execution, Best Holdings evaluates the transaction-specific facts that may include source and provenance, commercial and economic purpose, contractual authority, documents, fees and commissions, payment instructions, logistics, custody, settlement sequencing, conflicts, and applicable restrictions.
Approvals are specific to the documented parties, facts, structure, conditions, and period. An introduction, NDA, represented mandate, proposed financial instrument, prior relationship, or attractive commercial terms does not itself constitute approval.
Monitoring and Response
Approvals do not silently carry forward when material facts change. Changes involving ownership, parties, banks, payment instructions, source, route, custody, destination, documents, transaction economics, or risk may suspend the affected approval pending review.
Concerns are escalated, relevant records are preserved, and activity may be held, restricted, declined, or exited where risk cannot be adequately understood or controlled.
Governance and Accountability
The Managing Partners retain ultimate accountability for the firm’s risk appetite and material compliance decisions. The Compliance Function administers the framework and may require additional information, impose conditions, pause onboarding or execution, preserve records, escalate concerns, and coordinate qualified external advice.
A person who originates, sponsors, or economically benefits from a transaction is not the sole approver of a high-risk acceptance, material exception, or payment deviation relating to that transaction. Best Holdings uses second-person review and external legal, sanctions, forensic, technical, or local expertise where the nature of the risk, independence, or internal capability warrants it.
Commercial urgency, prestige, revenue, sunk cost, relationship value, or senior sponsorship does not override diligence, applicable restrictions, or stop authority.
Information, Records, and Controlled Disclosure
Best Holdings seeks to maintain records sufficient to reconstruct what the firm knew, what it verified, what limitations existed, who made the relevant decision, what conditions applied, what changed, and how the matter was executed or closed.
Sensitive information is handled according to its classification, purpose, and authorized audience. External disclosure is authorized, proportionate, and purpose-limited. Where appropriate, Best Holdings may provide approved summaries, redacted evidence, certifications, or controlled diligence access instead of unrestricted disclosure of internal records or confidential information.
Financial Crime Compliance Program Statement
The Best Holdings Financial Crime Compliance Program Statement provides a formal public description of the firm’s anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, sanctions, counterparty diligence, transaction controls, monitoring, escalation, training, recordkeeping, and program-assurance architecture.
The Statement is derived from the firm’s governing compliance publications. Those internal publications and transaction-specific decisions remain authoritative.
